Primary function is to create a watertight and secure seal between the boiling cylinder and the scale collector tank to ensure no water leaks during the steam-making process. 

We recommend replacing this part at least every 5,000 operating hours or every 3 years to prevent leaks caused by material fatigue or heat stress.
